That moment just before the silence. The moment when everything changes, when the bird leaves the ground silently, carried by an invisible decision.
It's a spectacle that can often be witnessed if you take a moment of silence near the shores and marshes. For my part, I often used to observe them at length in British Columbia.
I often create around these suspended moments. Those that we don't always notice, but which mark a departure, a change, a breath. This work invites us to look up, to slow down, to let go of what must fly away.
